From old to new

A big part of Doradavera jewelry consists of elements originally used for other purposes or of damaged jewelry. Apparently useless fabrics are upgraded by converting them into new “bling bling”. Upcycled pieces of jewelry are not only shown in this section, in almost all pieces of jewelry from Doradavera there are components that were previously used elsewhere.

Used chains from the flea market, bottle caps from the park, everyday packaging materials are used different, upcycled and combined with stones from moments of life or dried up flowers. Wires made of brass, silver-plated copper, copper and aluminum or pearls from inspiring cute shops are also set-in, although it is still prefered to use a minimum of “new” materials. By including everyday material culture in our jewelry, sustainability is not only contributed in an ecological sense. It also influences on the social environment from the expressiveness value of the use of unconventional materials and upcycled jewelry play a role, as well as lower investments in newly manufactured materials classified as “high quality” do.
